Arkansas – A wildfire in Saline County burned over 100 acres and caused the evacuation of residents within the affected area on Sunday.

The ARC of Greater Arkansas Chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team, dispatched an ERV, opened a shelter and provided assistance as needed for the evacuees. The shelter closed hours later.

The American Red Cross Helps Those Affected by Herriman Area Fire

Herriman, UTAH (Monday, September 20, 2010 12:01 a.m.) — The American Red Cross is helping those affected by the fire evacuation in Herriman tonight. Eighty-three people are currently staying the night in the Red Cross Shelter at Herriman High School. The Red Cross is offering the evacuees information and updates on the evacuations, a place to stay, meals to eat and will ensure they have clothes to wear. The Red Cross also has nurses and mental health experts available for trauma counseling if needed and desired. Immediate essential needs and any emergency prescription needs are provided. If needed, the American Red Cross disaster action teams can open additional shelters.

If you are affected by this evacuation, the Red Cross encourages you to register on “Safe and Well” at www.redcross.org to let loved ones know where you are and that you are okay. For loved ones hoping to find information on family or friends in the evacuation zone, you can search for them on “Safe and Well.” “Safe and Well” registrations are underway at the Red Cross shelter. Red Cross closes Loveland shelter, continues client casework

Red Cross served nearly 2,500 meals & 3,100 snacks, registered 145 at shelters, has opened 202 client cases

[Sept. 16, 2010] – The American Red Cross Northern Colorado has closed its shelter at the Church at Loveland, which was serving evacuees of the Reservoir Road Fire. The Northern Colorado Chapter and Mile High Chapter continue to help residents affected by the Reservoir Road and Fourmile Canyon Fires via individual casework and assistance.

Disaster Assessment teams have been canvassing the Fourmile Canyon Fire-affected area to assess damages and reach out to residents, some who were unaware of the assistance available to them and others who had just learned of their losses. Outreach teams also went into the field to deliver items such as water, clean-up kits, gloves, masks and recovery backpacks.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross has initiated an estimated 200 cases serving nearly 300 people affected by the fires. During the recovery phase, Red Cross workers assess the losses and needs of each client individually, provide emergency financial assistance to qualified clients, help connect them with additional resources, and help them form a plan to get back on their feet.

Colorado – A wildfire in Larimer County burned over 1,000 acres, closed roadways and caused scores of residents in the affected area to evacuate on Sunday.

The Northern Colorado Chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team (DAT), opened an evacuation center and shelter, provided Mass Care for affected-area residents and supplied canteen services for emergency responders.

The Onslow County Chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team, opened a shelter and provided Mass Care for evacuees. Shelter closed hours later.

Colorado – A wildfire in Boulder County burned thousands of acres, damaged or destroyed multiple structures and caused thousands of residents within the affected area to evacuate on Monday.

The Mile High chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team, opened a shelter, provided Mass Care for shelter residents and issued canteen services to hundreds of affectedarea residents and emergency responders.

Idaho – A wildfire in Valley County burned hundreds of acres and prompted the evacuation of residents within the affected area on Thursday.

The Greater Idaho Chapter deployed Disaster Action Team (DAT) and placed a shelter on standby for affected-area residents. The chapter continues to monitor situation to see if additional assistance and resources are needed.

Washington – Fast moving wildfires in several portions of the state destroyed homes, burned hundreds of acres and caused the evacuation of residents in Ferry, Stevens and Klickitat Counties on Thursday.

The Inland Northwest Chapter deployed Disaster Action Team (DAT), dispatched two Emergency Response Vehicles, opened two shelters and provided Mass Care to the evacuees. The Southwest Washington Chapter deployed DAT, opened a shelter for residents in the affected area and staffed the County EOC.

partnered with another organization toprovide canteen services for the evacuees. The shelter closed hours later after
evacuation orders lifted.
