Connecticut – A gunman fired many rounds at a work place killing eight and injuring two before turning the gun on himself at Manchester yesterday.
The Connecticut Chapter provided mass care and mental health services to over 165 individuals (about 134 being family members or coworkers) at a Family Assistance Center.

Disaster Alert
Missouri – A gunman walked into a manufacturing company in St. Louis County, shot seven people, and turned the gun on himself on Thursday. Five injuries and four fatalities reported. The Nashville Area Chapter provided canteen services and offered Disaster Mental Health (DMH).

Disaster Alert
Florida: A shooting that occurred on Thanksgiving night, in a Palm Beach County home, caused 4 fatalities, 1 injury and prompted the evacuation of a dozen relatives. 17 relatives were in the home at the time of the incident. The shooter fled the scene. The local chapter dispatched a Disaster Action Team (DAT), provided canteening for emergency responders, offered Mental Health services and worked with the local authorities to provide a safe location for the family.
Washington: A gunman burst into a Washington coffeehouse Sunday morning and opened fire on four officers. The three male officers and one female officer did not survive their injuries. The local chapter dispatched a Disaster Action Team (DAT), provided canteening and offered Mental Health services.

Disaster Alert
Northern Mariana Islands / Saipan – At approximately 11am GMT on November 20, a man shot several people in a small residential community and a tourist area before he turned the gun on himself. Several fatalities were reported, and numerous people were wounded.
Northern Mariana Islands Chapter placed a Disaster Action Team (DAT) on alert and deployed Mental Health (MH) to the local hospital to assist the victims and their families.

Disaster Alert
New Jersey – A shootout between police and two suspected criminals prompted the evacuation of a 40-unit apartment in Hudson County on Thursday. The Northern New Jersey chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team (DAT), opened a reception center/shelter and provided snacks, food and water to the evacuees.

Disaster Alert
North Carolina – a 45 year old gunman killed and injured multiple people in a nursing home on Sunday. The Red Cross provided canteen services for the Reception Center and emergency responders. We also partnered with a local agency to provide mental health care workers.

Disaster Alert
Alabama – At least 11 people were killed and 1 hospitalized after a gunman went on a shooting spree in a small Alabama community with a population of about 1000. Four Red Cross Mental Health workers were on site, along with pastors from local churches and representatives from a local Mental Health clinic. The chapter also provided food and drinks to first responders.
