Red Cross Feeds Evacuees, Firefighters
California - The American Red Cross responds as two wildfires rage in California and force thousands to evacuate their homes.
Red Cross chapters in Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz counties have opened shelters to offer safe haven for Californians ordered to evacuate. Partner shelters have also been established to house pets that left threatened areas with owners. Additionally, an Emergency Response Vehicle has been deployed to provide snacks and beverages to firefighters and evacuees on site.
In a wildfire, every second counts. Be informed about threats in your area by visiting the California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention website.
