Pizza Hut played a large role in helping the American Red Cross feed hundreds of individuals and families in Nashville over the past couple of days. NPC International, the largest franchisee of Pizza Hut around the world, saw a need to help the families in the Nashville, TN, area. Most had lost electrical power and telephones, and the hardest hit were driven from their homes and apartments by record flooding around the massive Cumberland River and some of its feeder tributaries.
“But,” explained Kirby Mynier, Vice President of Operations, East Territory, based in Brentwood, TN, “we didn’t have any kind of distribution network. We knew we had to do something and with a massive mobile pizza oven, available, we had the capability to turn out a large number of pizzas for those affected people.”
