Colorado – A winter storm brought heavy snowfall in Morgan County closing major roadways and downing power lines on Thursday night. The Centennial Chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team (DAT), opened a shelter, and provided food and water for stranded travelers and affected residents.

Disaster Alert
California – A wildfire in Santa Cruz County burned hundreds of acres, threatened homes and prompted the evacuation of residents in the surrounding area on Sunday. The Santa Cruz Chapter deployed a Disaster Action Team (DAT), opened an evacuation center, provided food and water to affected-area residents and placed a shelter and an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) on stand-by.

Disaster Alert
Kentucky – A tornado touched down in Casey County on Friday and damaged dozens of homes and prompted the evacuation of residents. The Central Kentucky chapter opened a shelter and provided food and water services for the evacuees and emergency responders.

North Carolina – A wholesale tire facility caught fire causing the evacuation of nearby houses. The Cape Fear chapter distributed food and water to firefighters and emergency responders.

Disaster Alert
California – Several wildfires continue to burn over 100,000 acres, threatening thousands of homes and prompting mandatory evacuations throughout the Southern California region. Red Cross chapters have deployed Disaster Action Teams (DAT), opened eight evacuation shelters, and staffed county Emergency Operation Centers (EOC). Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) continue to provide food and water to emergency workers and evacuees.

Disaster Alert
Indiana – A tornado touched down in Chesterton yesterday. A Red Cross liaison was present in the activated Emergency Operation Center (EOC). The chapters also deployed mass care workers to the EOC and provided food and water to emergency workers and the affected residents.

Disaster Alert
Florida – A tornado that touched down in Volusia County destroyed several homes, affected over a hundred others and left hundreds of county residents without power on Friday. The chapters deployed Disaster Action Team (DAT), staffed the county emergency operation center and placed a shelter on standby. Two dispatched Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) provided food, water and clean-up kits to the residents of the affected areas.

North Dakota – A tornado touched down in Stark County Wednesday destroying more than a dozen homes and caused the evacuation of residents within the affected areas. The responding chapters opened a shelter, deployed a Disaster Action Team (DAT), dispatched Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) and worked with local partners to provide food and water to the disaster victims and emergency responders.
