New Mexico – hundreds of travelers along Interstate 40 were stranded in Quay and Guadalupe counties due to a blizzard. The Mid Rio Grande chapter in Albuquerque opened a shelter and supported the government shelter.

Oklahoma -A blizzard cut off power to thousands of residents and stranded travelers along Interstate 40 last Friday. Volunteers opened a shelter and provided canteen services.

Disaster Alert: Nebraska Winter Storms

Disaster Alert

Yesterday, the Red Cross responded to the following event:

  • Wayne County, Nebraska – Blizzard conditions caused low visibility on roadways and left travelers stranded  on Monday. The Heartland Chapter and Northeast Nebraska Chapter supported a shelter and provided meals.

Snow conditions are expected throughout the Midwest and Northeast over the next few days.
