Midwest Flooding: List Yourself or a Loved One as Safe and Well

We urge all those who have evacuated or who expect to evacuate to register on the Red Cross Safe and Well website.

This tool allows people in disaster-affected areas to register their well-being using several pre-scripted messages. Family and friends can then log on and search for registered individuals to learn of their whereabouts and safety. People without access to a computer or without electricity or connectivity can call the Red Cross (1-800-REDCROSS) for help registering, or contact a loved one to register on their behalf.

Please note that the Safe and Well site safeguards the privacy of the disaster victim. Although these messages will be viewable by friends or family members who conduct a successful search, the site does not reveal a specific location or contact information.

Midwest Flooding: Shelter Update from Tippecanoe County

The Tippencanoe County Chapter has opened a shelter at First Assembly of God Church, 9835 West US Highway 421, in Delphi, IN. The shelter is open to anyone who has been displaced due to high water levels on the Tippecanoe River.

Disaster Alert: Flooding and Tornadoes in Indiana

Disaster Alert

Indiana - Several counties including White, Marshall, Carroll and Pulaski were hit by a second storm system that passed through the state yesterday bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms and tornadoes to some areas. Flooding is expected to continue. Many Northern Indiana Counties have either opened or are preparing to open shelters in anticipation of the floods. The Northeast Indiana Chapter has been actively providing mobile food services to those in need.

Midwest Flooding: Update from the Hancock County Chapter

The American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter has opened an emergency shelter for those affected by the current flooding at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 120 W. Sandusky St. in Findlay.

For more information, call 2-1-1 (local callers only).
The City of Findlay is providing sandbags for homes and businesses at the Parker Building, 230 W. Crawford St.

Disaster Alert: Flooding in Ohio

Disaster Alert

Ohio – Heavy rainfall caused flooding in Hancock County that closed roads and forced dozens of local area residents out of their homes on Monday. The Chapters opened two shelters for the flood victims and continues communications with city and state officials to determine immediate disaster-related needs to residents in the affected area.
