Disaster Alert: Flooding in North/South Carolina

Disaster Alert

North/South Carolina – Heavy rain continues in Pickens, Buncombe and McDowell Counties among others causing flooding on the Saluda River and prompting evacuations on several campgrounds.

Several counties are expected to be affected. Up to 100 homes could be evacuated if this trend continues.

The ARC of Upstate South Carolina and Asheville Mountain Area Chapters each opened a shelter and placed human and material resources on standby.

The Regional Disaster Coordination Team continues to communicate with our government partners along with monitoring the weather situation.

Disaster Health Services Staff are available to offer their services.
