11/08/12 – The benevolent arm of Hope Worldwide called upon the New York City Church of Christ following Hurricane Sandy to assist the Red Cross in Staten Island. Volunteers of all ages loaded supplies and meals onto Emergency Response Vehicles before they departed to areas hardest hit by the storm. “We want to help the Red Cross so they can be free to do what they do to help our community,” said Minister John Beene. Several of the church’s volunteers were coping with unemployment as a result of the storm and were eager to help. “The Red Cross is a great opportunity to meet the needs of many people,” added Beene.
