The Gargiulo family of Babylon Village, New York, suffered significant damage to their home from Superstorm Sandy. They were so grateful for the aid they received from the American Red Cross they asked if they could volunteer to help with food distribution. Their wish was granted on Thanksgiving Day, when Tom and Jeanne Gargiulo, along with their son Ryan Gargiulo, climbed aboard a Red Cross emergency response vehicle. Under the watchful eye of certified Red Cross workers, they served turkey dinners to the residents of Lindenhurst, New York. The neighborhood they served was one in which they had once lived. How surprising for those receiving meals to see a familiar face, a former neighbor, peering out from the window of the now familiar Red Cross vehicle.
