Roatcap Fire Update: Shelter Remains Open, Red Cross has Served Over 200 Meals

10:15 a.m., Oct. 25, 2012 — The American Red Cross has served more than 200 meals to evacuees and emergency responders battling the Roatcap Fire in Montezuma county.

Last night, four evacuated residents stayed overnight at the Red Cross shelter at Kemper Elementary, 620 E. Montezuma Ave., in Cortez. The Red Cross will continue to operate the shelter for evacuees and provide feeding and comfort in the community.
