California – Ventura County Fire Department initiated evacuations for La Conchita as last week’s landslide area was showing ground movement. The evacuation is a precautionary measure, particularly with additional rainfall expected.
At this time, several families have evacuated, though the number is unknown by the fire department. Additional
evacuations are not expected at this time.
A Disaster Action Team was dispatched to La Conchita to assist the affected families and assess the situation. They have placed a shelter on standby and are maintaining close contact with the fire department to receive notification of any changes in the situation as they unfold.
