Michigan – More than 800,000 gallons of oil flowed into a creek that feeds the Kalamazoo River prompting the Kalamazoo County officials to declare a state of emergency Tuesday afternoon. The spill is also affecting Calhoun county.
The Calhoun County Chapter opened a shelter yesterday and staffed the Calhoun County Emergency Operation Center. The Greater Kalamazoo Area chapter staffed the Kalamazoo County Emergency Operation Center and is ready to open a shelter if needed.
