Press Release: MS Shelters Close ; Feeding Continues

April 29, 2010 – Jackson, MS – All Red Cross shelters that opened in response to the severe weather outbreak in Mississippi on Saturday April 24^th have closed. At one time three shelters were open totaling a population of 55.

Red Cross workers will continue mobile feeding through the weekend. Emergency response vehicles will carry food, water, and snacks into the impacted communities during the lunch and dinner hours. Drivers will also have tarps, cleaning kits, shovels and rakes for those who need them.
