Disaster Alert

New York – Hundreds of travelers were stranded at JFK International Airport since Saturday due to the volcanic activity in Iceland that cancelled thousands of international flights worldwide.

The American Red Cross in Greater New York Chapter provided 800 cots and1600 blankets to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to be utilized at the airport and delivered 1,200 comfort kits for the stranded travelers.
