Red Cross Sets Up Bulk Distribution Sites

Westborough, Massachusetts, Friday, April 2, 2010 – The Red Cross is on the scene in Westborough to help those affected by the recent floods. “Getting help into the hands of people as quickly as possible is the priority of the Red Cross in times of disaster,” said James Tittle, director of the Red Cross relief operation. “From our experience with other major disasters, outreach visits coupled with direct distribution of relief items speed up the recovery efforts.”

The following bulk distribution sites will open Saturday, April 3 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Clean-up kits will be handed out along with safety information. The clean-up kits can include items such as brooms, mops, bleach, gloves and buckets. The locations will be set up at the following addresses:

o Old Fire Station
12 Hamilton Street
Saugus, MA

o Fire Department
140 Commerce Drive
Fall River, MA

o Central Fire Station
22 East Central Street
Natick, MA

o Wrentham Town Hall (back parking lot)
79 South Street
Wrentham, MA

There is absolutely no charge for any Red Cross disaster assistance. All disaster assistance is free, a gift from the American people.
